I would not treat "How to Use Perplexity for Market and Competitor Research" like a checklist you finish once. Citation-first research for positioning pages, comparison articles, and launch briefs.
Quick Answer
Pick one real job this week. Run the workflow below against that job. Keep what shortens the path to a shipped result. Drop the rest.
What I actually do
I start with the messy live work, not a demo prompt. If it does not help a page, a campaign, a checkout, or a ticket, it is entertainment.
Then I write down the artifact I need: a draft, a table, a patch, a brief. Tools that cannot produce that artifact in two tries do not stay in the stack.
The test
Two weeks. Same task. Measure edit time, not how clever the output sounded.
If a client would not pay for the result, I do not publish a tutorial pretending they would.
What I refuse
I refuse generic "best practices" with no named tool, number, or failure. I refuse stacking five products because a roundup said so.
Ship the boring version first.
